Leather art
The second chapter of the section “Kazakh tribes of the Bronze Age”, volume 1 of the five-volume scientific publication “History of the Kazakh SSR (from ancient times to the present day)” (1980, publishing house: “Kylym” of the Kazakh SSR, edited by prominent historians of Kazakhstan: K.A. Akishev, K. M. Baypakov, M. K. Kadyrbayev, B. E. Komekov) is written about the economic culture of tribes who lived in the Bronze Age, engaged in the manufacture of leather goods, household crafts and the production of material goods.
The traditional craft culture of the Kazakh people is comprehensively described from an ethnographic point of view in the book of historian Khalel Argynbayev “Crafts of the Kazakh people: research work.” Processing of domestic animals and various animal skins has occupied an important place in the life of the Kazakhs since ancient times. Kazakh craftsmen were engaged in tanning leather. The traditional craft of the Kazakh people is described as “the business of working leather and making traditional household items from leather.”
Since 1993, during the years of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scientific and creative work began under the name “Folk craft - a precious treasure.” In the course of writing many years of creative work, the traditional craft of the Kazakh people turned into scientific and research production practice, a source of crafts.
This is confirmed by the certificate of state registration of the legal entity Altynbek LLP No. 58-1904-13-TOO dated September 19, 2006, in the village of Shubarkudyk, Temir district, Aktobe region. The source of activity of the legal entity is the traditional processing of leather of the Kazakh people and the production of traditional leather products.
The production technology is implemented in the region using local natural resources - the skins of all domestic animals and dairy products, natural dye plants and the regional artistic style of crafts. All production technology is based on historical experience, traditional worldview, and national philosophy.
