The Department of International Relations is responsible for promoting and advancing the National Museum on the international stage, as well as establishing and developing relations with foreign museums and research institutions.
The Department’s activities are aimed at fostering a sustainable dialogue between the Museum and its international partners through the implementation of joint exhibition, research projects, and professional programs. The main activities of the Department of International Relations include:
• Organizing a comprehensive system of international cooperation between the Museum and museums of foreign countries;
• Participating in the development of proposals related to the directions, key tasks, forms, and content of the state cultural policy in terms of international cooperation with cultural institutions;
• Studying international experience in the field of museum work, organizing, coordinating, and providing protocol support for visits of the Museum’s management and staff, as well as arranging internships, lectures, and conferences with the participation of foreign specialists;
• Participating in the development of the Museum’s exhibition plan, providing support and coordination for exhibition projects implemented both within the Museum and abroad;
• Providing protocol, visa, and logistical support for the Museum’s foreign guests;
• Conducting business correspondence and negotiations with cultural institutions of foreign countries.
In cooperation with foreign museums, we participate in the organization of exhibitions, lectures, conferences, we implement many other public events and projects. Employees of the National Museum of Kazakhstan take part in international scientific conferences, presentations that form the scientific image of the country. Participation in international events with exhibits from the funds of the NM RK contributes to the expansion of knowledge about the country abroad.
The framework of international cooperation of the NM RK is expanding annually. The museum develops scientific cooperation with museums, archives, libraries, research institutions from far and near abroad.
Currently, within the framework of cultural and educational activities, the NM RK supports and strengthens cultural cooperation with the embassies and consulates of foreign countries of Greece, Korea, Hungary, China, Iran, Egypt, India, North Macedonia, France, Italy, America and Russia.
