A roundtable discussion titled «A Master Restorer» was held at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dedicated to the professional and creative career of renowned artist and restorer, craftswoman, and member of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan, Tursynkul Zhailaubayeva.

During the event, a congratulatory letter from Aibek Sydykov, Vice Minister of Culture and Information, marking the master’s 85th anniversary, was read aloud. The letter highlighted Tursynkul Zhailaubayeva’s significant contribution to the field of restoration and conveyed warm wishes to the honored jubilarian.

Akmaral Ibrayeva, Deputy Director of the National Museum for Scientific Affairs, noted that the master’s participation in creating the second reconstruction of the famous «Golden Man», discovered near the city of Esik in 1994, as well as her restoration of traditional national garments characteristic of ancient and later historical periods, clearly demonstrate her professional expertise and strong commitment to preserving Kazakhstan’s national artistic heritage.

The roundtable brought together cultural and arts figures as well as specialists in the field, who delivered presentations. The participants also discussed current issues and challenges in the field of restoration.

In turn, Tursynkul Zhailaubayeva spoke in detail about her professional experience with specialists in the restoration field and shared valuable advice gained throughout her career.

Today, valuable artifacts restored by the master are preserved in the collections of a number of museums in Kazakhstan and abroad. Among them are the kamka chapan of Abylai Khan, the gold-embroidered chapan of Kazybek Bi, known as «Kaz Dauysty» Kazybek Bi, and other historical artifacts, which are displayed at the National Museum.

Tursynkul Zhailaubayeva’s dedicated work to honor and preserve the national heritage and pass historical artifacts on to future generations represents a significant contribution to the development of the restoration field.
