World-renowned Chinese writer visits the National Museum

Mo Yan, the world-renowned Chinese writer, a distinguished representative of contemporary Chinese literature, and the recipient of the 2012 Nobel Prize in Literature, paid a special visit to the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During his visit, the distinguished guest toured the Great Steppe Stone Sculptures Hall, the Gold Halls, and the Ethnography Exhibition, where he became acquainted with the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Kazakh people. Throughout the tour, he expressed particular interest in the history of the nomadic civilization and the cultural heritage of the Great Silk Road.

Mo Yan signed the Museum's Book of Honored Guests, writing: «The Silk Road is a priceless treasure of the nation». He also expressed his admiration for the architecture and urban landscape of Astana, praising Kazakhstan's rich culture and history.

The staff of the National Museum expressed their gratitude to the distinguished guest for his visit and wished him continued creative success and new achievements.
