A regular session of the «Mergen» Traditional Archery Club was held at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The session was conducted by Yersultan Zeynulla, a coach of the Kazakhstan Traditional Archery Federation.
The main objective of the session was to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the art of traditional archery, increase their interest in this national sport, and develop their marksmanship skills.
During the event, the coach paid special attention to safety procedures and thoroughly explained the fundamental rules of handling a bow.
In the theoretical part of the lesson, participants learned about the history of archery, its significance in Kazakh culture, as well as the structure of the bow and the different types of arrows.
During the practical session, club members practiced the correct way to hold a bow, maintain proper posture, nock an arrow correctly, and accurately aim at a target. The coach also reviewed each participant’s technique individually, corrected mistakes, and provided professional guidance. Participants completed several rounds of shooting from a designated distance, giving them an opportunity to improve their performance.
The event made a valuable contribution to the development of this traditional national sport and helped foster important qualities among the younger generation, including responsibility, patience, and precision.
