Victims of political repression in the memory of the people

On May 31, in observance of the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repression, a thematic tour entitled «Victims of Political Repression in the Memory of the People» was held in the History of Kazakhstan (13th-20th Centuries) Hall of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the tour, visitors learned about the tragic history of political repression in the 20th century, the fate of the people during the years of famine, and the lives of national intellectuals who suffered unjust persecution.

Through archival documents, photographs, personal belongings of prisoners, and historical artifacts displayed in the exhibition, the devastating impact of the totalitarian system on the Kazakh people was comprehensively presented.

Special attention was given to the public activities of the Alash intellectuals, the history of labor camps, and the destinies of victims of political repression.

The main purpose of the tour was to foster historical awareness among the younger generation, preserve the memory of the tragic lessons of the past, pay tribute to the innocent victims, and emphasize the value of independence.
