The traditional cultural and educational event «Night at the museum – 2026», dedicated to the International Museum Day, was successfully held at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
This year’s event stood out for its unique format that combined the past and the present, tradition and innovation, history and contemporary culture. For one day, the National Museum of Kazakhstan transformed into a large cultural platform, offering thousands of visitors an atmosphere filled with knowledge, creativity, and inspiration.
During the official opening ceremony, Yerlan Dakenov, Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information, congratulated museum employees on their professional holiday and emphasized their important role in preserving and promoting the nation’s historical and cultural heritage. He also highlighted the significance of large-scale cultural events such as «Night at the museum» in increasing public interest in museums and the country’s history.
Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed theatrical tours, interactive programs, and quest-based activities that immersed visitors in the atmosphere of different historical eras. In addition, the traditional «Baldyrgan Guide» project was organized for young visitors, allowing children to conduct tours through the museum halls themselves.
One of the evening’s special projects was the «Star Guide» initiative. Famous personalities and public figures led tours through the museum galleries, introducing visitors to the national heritage fr om a fresh perspective.
With the support of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, a unique show combining art and technology was presented. The performance featured a humanoid robot, a bionic robot dog, and an impressive violin performance by Nazym Mustafina, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
As part of Museum Night, concert programs, DJ sets, scientific lectures, workshops, handicraft fairs, and author-led tours by museum staff were organized, allowing visitors to experience the museum space in a completely new format.
Guests also had the opportunity to explore national and international exhibitions displayed in the museum halls and immerse themselves in the diverse world of art and culture.
The «Night at the museum – 2026» event once again demonstrated that the museum is a modern space wh ere spirituality, culture, science, and creativity come together.
