Director of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan Berik Abdygaliuly and Director of the Russian Ethnographic Museum Yulia Kupina have signed a memorandum of cooperation.
The meeting took place within the framework of a roundtable attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balaeva, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Andrey Malyshev, as well as representatives of the creative and scientific communities of both countries.
The signed memorandum has become one of the key events of the Days of Russian Culture in Kazakhstan, held from April 23 to 26.
«The combination of a shared cultural heritage and a community of experts who have known each other well for decades provides a solid foundation for joint work. We aim to use all available tools, including digitalization, catalog publishing, and exhibitions, to present collections in their places of origin. As the National Museum is not only a custodian of cultural heritage but also a center of high-level expertise, strengthening cooperation is of great importance to us», said Y. Kupina.
The signing of the memorandum continues the agreements reached during the working visit of Museum Director B. Abdygaliuly to museums in Moscow and Saint Petersburg in 2025.
In the near future, the parties plan to begin publishing catalogs covering scientific and methodological areas, as well as the work of artists, restorers, and other museum professionals.
