The opening of the international festival «Tradition and the Modern World» took place at the National Museum with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event introduced guests to the rich and distinctive world of national costumes and ethnic design, becoming an important cultural platform that demonstrated the harmony between traditional and contemporary art.

The festival brought together designers, masters of national art, ethnographers, as well as young artists interested in traditional culture.

Representatives of various cultures took part in the event, during which the history and significance of national costumes were widely discussed. Designers and artisans had the opportunity to creatively reinterpret traditional elements and create new images.

The festival program began with a vernissage and master classes on traditional art and ethno-design, followed by the official opening ceremony and a fashion show featuring a runway presentation of national and youth clothing.

At the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information, Erlan Dakenov, described the designers’ work as an invaluable contribution to the national cultural heritage and wished them creative success.

At the conclusion of the event, participating designers were awarded diplomas on behalf of the Chairman of the Eurasian Designers’ Union, Professor of Arts E. S. Asylkhanov.
