On April 7, the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan will host the opening of a solo exhibition by Korean new media artist Sunjeong Hwang titled «Planetary Weaving: Telluric Rhythms and Entangled Memories».
The exhibition explores the interconnections between humans, nature, and technology in the context of global transformations in the modern world. In her works, the artist investigates the boundaries of human perception and offers a new perspective on the relationships between the living and the non-living, the visible and the invisible.
The exhibition is conceived as a multisensory space that brings together video, sound, movement, and visual imagery. Through installations and sound compositions, the artist creates an environment that allows visitors to experience the rhythms of nature and reflect on the interconnectedness of all elements within the planetary ecosystem.
Sunjeong Hwang is a new media artist and composer. She is a member of the media art duo organic Operators (oOps.50656) and the founder of the experimental sound lab Hertz and Dough. She was a finalist of the SONGEUN Art Award and a recipient of international awards such as ISEA 2023 (France) and Future Tense (Hong Kong). Her works have been presented at international exhibitions and festivals, including SeMA, Sonic Acts Biennale, ACC, and MUTEK JP+MX.
