The 8th Open Asyk Atu Tournament dedicated to the Republican Asyk Atu Day, celebrated on May 5, was held among school students. The event was organized by the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Astana City Asyk Atu Federation.
The tournament aimed to promote traditional national games among young people and to develop agility, accuracy, attentiveness, and precision.
Participants included students from Secondary Schools No. 18, 24, 42, 111, 113, and 116; Lyceum Schools No. 84 and 85; Gymnasium Schools No. 63, 65, 83, and 90; as well as members of the «Arqa Alan» Children and Youth Physical Education Center.
Following the competition, the winners were determined and outstanding participants were recognized with special awards.
«Bes Asyq» Competition:
- 3rd Place – Secondary School No. 113;
- 2nd Place – Secondary School No. 18;
- 1st Place – K. Mukhamedkhanov School-Gymnasium No. 90.
«Bes Taban» Competition:
- 3rd Place – Secondary School No. 113;
- 2nd Place – Secondary School No. 42;
- 1st Place – Secondary School No. 116.
Special Awards («Bes Asyq»):
- Best Player – Amina Yermenova and Amira Yermenova, students of M. Zhumabayev School-Gymnasium No. 65;
- Most Agile Player – Zhaina Amir, student of M. Zhumabayev School-Gymnasium No. 65;
- Most Resourceful Player – Alina Tynyshtyq, student of Secondary School No. 111.
Special Awards («Bes Taban»):
- Sharpshooter – Imangali Amanbek, student of M. Zhumabayev School-Gymnasium No. 65;
- Outstanding Marksman – Ibrahim Zhamakin, student of Secondary School No. 111;
- Eagle Eye – Yersultan Yeltaiuly, student of Sh. Murtaza School-Gymnasium No. 63.
In addition, Meyrambek Yensebayev, Junior Research Associate of the Museum Pedagogy and Children’s Creativity Department, was awarded a medal by the Astana City Asyk Atu Federation for his contribution to the development of the traditional game.
Eskendir Rakhmetov, President of the Astana City Asyk Atu Federation, noted that many children who excel in museum tournaments later become prize winners at national and international competitions.
