International Forum "Museums of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness"

On December 18, 2019, the international forum "Museums of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness" was held, dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main objective of the international forum is to demonstrate the best experience in the development of museums and exhibition spaces in digital format, the development of modern museum management, solving problems of preserving museum objects and collections, increasing the role of multimedia projects in the context of museum development, discussing creative activity between republican and regional museums, the importance of the media system in the museum industry and other topical issues.

At the opening ceremony, Director of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Mukhamediuly noted: "The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been moving forward with significant achievements for 5 years. As a result of 5 years of activity, we managed to become a sacred place of culture and art, science. During this period, about 300 exhibitions of regional, national and international level were organized. Within the framework of the "Rukhani Zhangyru" program, the Center "Kieli Kazakhstan" was created in the museum. In addition, the National Museum is a scientific center where museum staff annually take part in international and national archaeological expeditions. Close cooperation has been established with scientific centers in Russia, Germany, Korea, Japan, and China."

Statesman and public figure, Ph.D., Professor Myrzatai Zholdasbekov recalled: "The formation of this museum was not easy. When it was necessary to prepare the first concept, I was the chairman of the commission. There were not enough museologists and museum specialists in Kazakhstan. But thanks to a wide circle, thanks to respected citizens, we have approved the concept. I am glad that the National Museum has now become one of the most outstanding historical and scientific centers of Kazakhstan. During the opening of the National Museum, historical exhibits located in the Presidential Center of Culture moved here. I think that today the best researchers work in one of the main museums of the country. I sincerely want to thank them."

Today, within the framework of the international forum, a unique exhibition "Treasures of the Kazakh Altai" opened at 17:00. The exhibition presented unique gold products of the Early Kazakh culture from the mounds of "Eleke Sazy", found by an archaeological expedition led by Kazakh scientist-archaeologist Z. Samashev in 2018-2019 in Tarbagatai district of East Kazakhstan region. Also presented for the first time was a scientific reconstruction of the seventh "Golden Man" from the mound "Eleke Sazy", made by D.I.N., Professor Z. Samashev

Also during the forum, at 15:00, a press conference was held on the results of the implementation of the international exhibition project "The Procession of the Golden Man through the museums of the world".

The event was attended by Director of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, Vice-Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Eldos Ramazanov, statesman and public figure, Ph.D., Professor Myrzatai Zholdasbekov, D.I. archaeologist Zeynolla Samashev, Director of the Museum of Islamic Culture Ilnur Nizamiev (Tatarstan), Director of the Uzbek State Museum of Art Vasila Salikhovna Fayzieva, Director of the National Archaeological Museum of Northern Macedonia Goran Sanev, Director of the Museum of Anadolu Civilizations Yusuf Kirach, curator of the Department of Political and Strategic Planning of the Department of Museums Malaysia Mastura binti Mohd Sah, Deputy Director of the Epigraphic Museum of Athens Ioanna Venieri and representatives of state bodies and media, heads and staff of museums, members of ICOM in Kazakhstan, university scientists and cultural workers.
