Aibek Sydykov participated in the event of the «Amici degli Uffizi» Association
By the invitation of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Tuscany, Italy, Mr. Federico Albini, on October 5th, Acting Director of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aibek Sydykov, participated in the third edition of the General States of Museum and Cultural Patronage, organized by the «Amici degli Uffizi» Association. The event took place at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. This was the first event of the «Amici degli Uffizi» in which a representative from the museum community of Kazakhstan participated.
The event was also attended by the President of the «Amici degli Uffizi» Association, Maria Vittoria Rimbotti, the President of The Place of Wonders Foundation, Mikela Babini, the Chief Patrons of the Roman Heritage Royal Opera House, Maite Bulgari, the Executive Director of the Museum of the Future in Dubai, Lath Carlson, the Director of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Tanya Cohen-Uzzielli, the Director of the Brescia Museum Foundation, Stefano Karadjov, the Director of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, Christine Massel, and others.
During the event, they discussed topics related to patronage and best practices in supporting cultural and museum activities, both from the public and private sectors. Special attention was given to new challenges facing the cultural community, such as digitization, and emerging trends, including the growing interest of major companies in patronage activities.
In his presentation, Aibek Sydykov, Acting Director of the National Museum, provided a brief overview of cultural practices in Kazakhstan in the context of state and private cultural support, analyzed the museum practices of the National Museum, and initiated an international movement to support the digital restitution of cultural heritage. Furthermore, during the meeting, Aibek Sydykov expressed hope and readiness for «mutually beneficial cooperation between cultural institutions» and «dialogue and collaboration with all interested parties».
During the conversation with the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan, Mr. Federico Albini, Aibek Sydykov expressed his gratitude for the invitation and warm reception, and he expressed hope for the further development of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Italy.
