The exhibition «PAINTING OF THE STEPPE: SYMBOLS, COLORS, IMAGES»
The «PAINTING OF THE STEPPE: SYMBOLS, COLORS, IMAGES» exhibition will be opened on April 6, 2024 dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, curated by Olga Baturina (Art Society), professor of art history, and speaker. Venue: Astana, 54 Tauelsyzdyk Ave., National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 4th floor Anniversary exhibition will feature the most vibrant representations of Kazakh national fine art. Paintings and gobelines will be complemented by works of traditional jewelry art, weaving, handcrafts, and musical instruments. The exposition of the exhibition is collected from the funds of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which allowed to include the most interesting, legendary works of outstanding and recognized masters of art of the Kazakhstan, as well as modern works of young talented authors. In total, the exhibition will showcase around 250 pieces from 50 authors. The concept of the exhibition involves thematic zoning of the space: «Historical motifs in Kazakh painting», «Images of nature - the richness and diversity of landscape motifs», "Women artists in Kazakh art», «Contemporary art - new names». Among the exhibited artists: Abilkhan Kasteev, Aubakir Ismailov, Ural Tansykbaev, Salihitdin Aitbaev, Uke Azhiev, Aisha Galimbaeva, Gulfairus Ismailova, Kamill Mullahshev, and many other artists. Art Society - is a Kazakhstani project focused on art education, media and marketing in the field of art. Since 2020, it has been initiating art projects in Almaty and Nur-Sultan, with plans to expand its activities across Kazakhstan. Olga Baturina - has been teaching art theory and history for 30 years at the Zhurgenov Academy (Almaty). She has been awarded the Order of "Qurmet" for her contributions to the popularization of art in Kazakhstan. She is the author of several books on Kazakhstani art and has curated exhibitions and projects at both local and international levels, including at UNESCO in Paris. Additionally, she conducts her own lecture series at Art Society.
